Canva is an online design tool with a large library of professionally designed templates. It makes it easy to create presentations, posters, worksheets, and more.
All Outwood staff and students automatically have access to Canva Education, which includes Canva Pro features, student management tools, and the Affinity design suite.
Signing in
Go to canva.com and click Log in in the top-right corner. Select Continue with Google. If prompted, choose your school Google account.
Getting started
Canva’s Teacher’s Guide is a good first stop, even if you’ve used Canva before.
To go further:
- Design School offers free self-paced courses, including the Teacher Essentials course, which leads to becoming Canva certified.
- Canva’s Teacher Resources has tips, guides, and cheat sheets.
Student accounts
Student accounts have access to most Canva features, but with some restrictions applied automatically for safety and educational focus. There is nothing you need to set up.
Permitted AI tools
Students can only use two AI features: Magic Media and Dream Lab.
