Gmail

Proofread with Gemini

Gemini can now proofread your email drafts in Gmail, going beyond spelling and grammar to suggest improvements to conciseness, active voice, sentence structure, and word choice. Look for the proofreading option when composing a message.

Google Docs

Listen to a document summary

A new Listen to document summary option in the Tools menu uses Gemini to generate a short spoken overview of your document—typically just a few minutes long. You can choose from different voice styles (narrator, coach, and more) and adjust the playback speed.

Great for quickly catching up on meeting notes or getting the highlights from a long report.

Google Calendar

Smarter meeting time suggestions

When creating or rescheduling a meeting, Google Calendar now uses Gemini to suggest the best available times, taking into account your colleagues’ schedules, time zones, and any existing conflicts. If multiple invitees decline, a banner will suggest a time when everyone is free.

Google Meet

Better controls for “Take notes for me”

Meeting participants now see a clearer notice in the green room (the pre-join screen) if “Take notes for me” is enabled. Eligible users can turn off note-taking and transcription from the green room before joining, and can stop or start them at any point during the call.

Speech translation

Google Meet can now translate spoken conversation in near-real time. Unlike captions, speech translation creates a dubbed audio track in the listener’s chosen language, preserving the speaker’s tone and cadence. It currently supports English paired with Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian.
