edTech recap: November 2025

Find out what’s new with our digital tools.

November brought some exciting new features to Google Workspace, including major AI enhancements across the Gemini app, NotebookLM, and Vids.

Gemini app

Model and tool options

The model you select can impact both the quality and speed of responses, as well as the available tools. In general:

  • Gemini “Fast” may have more tool options and respond more quickly, but its responses might not be as sophisticated.
  • Gemini “Thinking” will generate higher-quality content, but may respond more slowly and have fewer tools available.

When you want the highest quality responses, choose “Thinking.”

Tip

Don’t see the “Deep research” option? Try selecting the “Fast” model.

Generate presentations

You can now create presentations in the Gemini app, using Canvas ✨

Ask Gemini to “Create a presentation…” or “Generate slides…” and describe the presentation you would like to create.

You can then collaborate with Gemini in Canvas to finalise your slides before exporting to Slides for any manual tweaks. Perfect for when you’d like AI to help with the initial structure.
